As its name suggests, the Presto Biggriddle is of considerable size, and with a cooking surface that measures at 18.5 by 15 inches, this griddle is one the largest electric griddles available today.

Presto BigGriddle Tilt 'n Drain Cool-Touch Electric GriddleThe big size of the Presto 07046 Biggriddle makes it a bulky and heavy appliance that would require the user to make sure there is enough room for storage.

Moreover, this Presto cool touch electric griddle can catch a lot of counter space so there is also a need to check whether the Presto Biggriddle can actually fit the kitchen countertop.

On the other hand the surface of the Presto Big griddle is able to contain a large amount of pancakes, and the nonstick coating seems to be quite durable. This Presto griddle is also equipped with the interesting Tilt n Drain feature that helps draining the extra grease.

By pulling out the handles, the user can tilt the cooking surface and drain the unwanted grease into the drip tray. This, in turn, produces healthier foods and helps with the cleaning of the Presto 07046 griddle as well.

What about the cooking performance of the Presto Big griddle? Well, the griddle does seem to reach the high temperatures required for adequate heating, but the heat just isn’t distributed evenly, probably due to the thin cooking surface of the Presto Biggriddle. Despite the fact that uneven cooking temperature would make it hard to produce perfectly brown pancakes, it’s still possible to get edible and tasty results with the Presto 07046 griddle.

In order to achieve good results with the Presto Big griddle the user should be aware of the hot and cold spots and monitor the food accordingly. It’s recommended to place the food in the center of the cooking surface first, since the center gets less hot than the rest of the surface. Any food placed directly above the heating element would likely to have dark lines underneath, so it’s better to keep the food away from the squared shape heating element.

Presto 07046 Tilt n Drain Big Griddle Cool Touch Electric GriddleMost of the other electric griddles don’t have the perfectly even heat distribution, but the case is just more evident with the Presto Biggriddle cool touch griddle.

When considering the cheap price of the Presto 07046, it’s not such a bad option, especially with the big cooking surface and the features for easy cleaning.

Being fully submersible in water and dishwasher safe, the Presto Big griddle should be even easier to clean. However, the majority of dishwashers are just not capable of dealing with the large size of the Presto 07046 Biggriddle. Nevertheless, cleaning this unit is relatively easy compared to other electric griddles, and the Presto Biggriddle is not very heavy for its massive size.

It is important to note that this Presto Presto cool touch electric griddle isn’t supposed to act as a warming tray. The manual details all the actions that are allowed to perfom with the Presto griddle and also provide safety instructions that are extremely important to read.

The Presto Big griddle does require the user to pay more attention to the cooking of the food, but the easy cleaning features, its huge size and attractive price certainly make the Presto 07046 griddle an interesting product.

I’m also not thrilled with the performance of this Presto griddle, I was surprised at first from its big size but after trying to cook some foods with it I’ve noticed that the surface doesn’t heat very even – although it’s still possible to cook your favorite foods like bacon, scrambled eggs and etc. The dishes that I cooked with the Presto tilt and drain Biggriddle were edible but I wouldn’t define it as great at all, so next time I might as well take a look at other more expensive electric griddles.

Came here looking for the Presto 07046 dimensions and discovered some interesting information about the heating mechanism of this pancake griddle. Have you got any alternative to the Presto tilt n drain griddle? Maybe I should buy a cast iron griddle that doesn’t include a nonstick surface..

Well, I have to say that I’m not thrilled with the Presto 07046 Biggriddle cool touch griddle – bought it at Walmart and I immediately saw that I’m going to have a storage problem.. it’s really HUGE. However it doesn’t brown the pancakes as good as my previous electric griddles. I’m still using it for eggs and pancakes but wouldn’t recommend it for bacon. If you can find a better griddle that costs more money I would say go for it, the Presto Biggriddle really isn’t something..

It’s nice to be able to cook a few scrambled eggs at the same time and the surface of this electric griddle really is big enough for that. But there are some hot spots that force you to watch the food and make sure nothing goes wrong.

I have also cooked pancakes and french toasts and they ended up fine, so I’ll say that the Presto big griddle is okay for its low cost, and I guess there are other electric griddles that might have better heat distribution if you are willing to pay more.

I bought the identical grill under the Food Network logo. I do not recommend this. When the heating element is on, food on the grill over the coils will burn and there is no place on the top where consistent temperature exists other than for a few small square inches. The first time I made scramble eggs on it, the grill surface actually warped when the cold eggs hit the center of the grill. No way can I recommend this.

I was looking for the Presto big griddle review but didn’t expect this. I read a lot of reviews that raved this exact model (I pretty sure that it was the Presto 07046, but I have also read reviews that raved other Presto jumbo griddles so I guess I will have to make some more research).
