George Foreman GRP100 The Next Grilleration G100 Stainless-Steel Nonstick Countertop Grill

This is a short review about the G100 model (or GRP100) of the Foreman brand. If you wish to get the George Foreman GRP100 the next grilleration G100 stainless-steel nonstick countertop grill, Click Here.

While the GRP99 design and the GRP100 grilling machine may look different at a first glance, they actually have a lot of similar features. Both of these units have a 100 square inch nonstick cooking surface and removable cooking plates that are dishwasher safe. In addition, instead of having an integrated grease tray you get grease-catching drip trays that need to be placed under the countertop grill.

Since there is also a griddle plate that comes with this product (other than the usual grilling plates that most of the George Foreman grills have) then it should make the unit a lot more versatile and allow the user to cook a wider variety of foods with this countertop griling machinel.

Another feature that is common to both the GRP99 model and the GRP100 design is that these units cannot maintain the high heat that is required for many recipes. Moreover, it seems that the G100 appliance is not that good at either cooking or grilling, and probably won’t contribute to the reputation of this popular brand.

It’s important to note that although there are problems with the heating mechanism of the Foreman GRP99 unit, it’s not quite as bad as the poor cooking performance of the next grilleration GRP100. Some people would even go farther and say that this appliance doesn’t grill the food but actually steam it.

On the other hand, the removable nonstick cooking plates make it a lot easier to clean the G100 model compared to other electrical grills where the cooking plates are fixed to the unit (for example, the older Foreman grills had non-removable plates, but they could sear the food at very high temperatures and had an impressive heat distribution). It’s just really simple to place the nonstick plates in the dishwasher or even washing them by hand isn’t that hard as you might think.

The electrical GRP100 machine comes with two drip trays and two customized spatulas – and they can also be put in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Despite the fact that the George Foreman grill GRP99 also includes a similar drip tray it doesn’t have the same safety problem that the model GRP100 has.

Apparently, you should be extremely careful about the rear leg latch of this G100 product, because this latch has a tendency to release at unexpected times, pushing the drip tray forward. It can get quite dangerous if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time – the hot liquids that are collected in the drip tray can be easily spilled on an unsuspected person.

Even the Cuisinart GR 4 griddler that comes with 2 drip cups that are not attached to the unit at all (and therefore it’s very easy to spill the content of these cups), these cups are not even close to being as dangerous as the flying drip tray of the George GRP100 counter top unit (in the newer model, the Cuisinart™ griddler™ with removable plates, there is an integrated drip tray that makes things a lot easier).

  1. GRP 100 rear leg release is faulty – is there a part that can be purchased to replace this. The grill is not really a joy to use with current release. Wonderful product, have owned GF grill since the very first release of grills.
